Ok that is enough about you. Now answer some questions.
What is your favourite colour?
I do not have one favorite colour. That would be boring. I like many colors depending on the time and mood.
What style of music do you listen to when you are at home?
Jazz, jazz-rock, rock, live and acoustic music. So it was a highlight to meet Black who performed "Wonderful Life" in the 1980s in the ORLA.fm studio and to hear his acoustic versions now.
What is your favourite TV show?
I sold the TV to buy a new radio player.
What makes the art of radio so special?
There is no single answer to this question. Radio is theatre of the imagination. You can really show any story in an unusual way which I think…is not possible in a TV or other media. Check out actor Orson Welles' narrative of radio play War of the Worlds in 1933. His delivery caused pandemonium in the USA and mass migration because people thought Martians really were invading! That's the drama of good, convincing radio.
Which person from history do you admire the most and why?
Pope John Paul II. There were many brave people in this world who have changed the fate of many others. But so few were able to touch the hearts so deeply, embrace so many across all faiths in the world, with words so wonderfully composed.
Who do people say you look like?
A man quite like anyone… typical face for radio.
What is your biggest dislike in life?
This may be crosstown traffic when so hard to get through… and you're in that metal box on four wheels. Two miles per hour… the only way to forget this… tune into the radio.
If you found a wallet on the street with a name and address, would you present it the nearest Police Station, and why?
I worked in the Police service. What should I do?
Anything else you would like to share with the listeners?
Never stop listening to the radio. You never know what else you can find interesting there.
